How are we making a difference?
Our commitment to sustainability starts with the ingredients we use in our products. We believe that the most effective skincare solutions come from nature itself, which is why we're proud to grow many of the botanicals used in our formulations right here on our farm. By growing our own plants, we can ensure that they're cultivated in a way that's both environmentally friendly and eco responsible.
But our use of Gatherwise grown plants goes beyond just sustainability—it's also about quality and potency. By controlling the entire cultivation process, from seed to harvest, we can guarantee that our plants are grown in nutrient-rich soil and harvested at the peak of their potency. This means that when you use our products, you're getting the most potent and effective botanicals possible, straight from the source.
Why does it matter?
By growing plants on-site, we eliminate the need for long-distance transportation and reduce the carbon emissions associated with shipping ingredients, helping our environmental impact. The higher quantities of plant matter we can’t grow we buy from locally sourced, women owned farmers, supporting local agriculture and communities. The use of Gatherwise grown plants is a testament to our commitment to transparency and traceability.

How we are changing sustainability in the beauty industry
Lip balms Tubes: Our lip balms are 100% compostable! Reducing the environmental impact in your daily lip care with each purchase.
Product Boxes: Created from trees grown in the U.S. with sustainable tree farming practices, printed with soy based ink, coated with a water base, and processed in an FTS facility.
Farm direct plants, zero emissions and waste: Many of the botanicals used in our formulations are grown directly on our farm, eliminating emissions from transportation and ensuring minimal waste throughout the production process.
Glass bottles: Our products are packaged in glass bottles, which are not only recyclable but also help to preserve the potency and freshness of our formulations.
Organic/Eco-friendly farming practices: We adhere to organic and eco-friendly farming practices, avoiding the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers to protect the health of our soil and surrounding ecosystem.
Seed saving and reseeding: We practice seed saving and reseeding to maintain biodiversity and promote the resilience of our plant populations.
Compostable material within our garden: We utilize compostable materials within our garden to enrich the soil and reduce waste, closing the loop on our sustainability efforts.
Native or invasive plant selection: The majority of the plants we use are native or invasive to our area, chosen for their ease of cultivation and sustainable harvesting practices. We never use plants that are endangered or harmful to the environment.
Limited plastic in packaging: We minimize the use of plastic in our packaging, opting for sustainable alternatives whenever possible to reduce plastic waste.
Sustainable shipping materials: Our shipping materials, including paper, boxes, stuffing, tape, and labels, are all sustainable and recyclable, ensuring that your products are delivered with minimal environmental impact.
Bulk buying of materials: By purchasing ingredients in bulk, we minimize packaging waste and reduce transportation emissions associated with frequent deliveries.
